We had a wonderful weekend in Yakima (Kylie and I, Brian had to work). Grandma and Grandpa had a lot of fun Christmas things planned and the biggest excitement came from the visit from Santa Claus. The doorbell rang and the kids answered the door and were shocked that Santa actually came to visit the. They truly enjoyed an hour of Santa's undivided attention. He read some Christmas books, sang songs with the kids, did some magic, gave them a present, etc. Kylie talked Santa's ear off and absolutely was thrilled to see him.
They loved trying on Santa's coat. Santa did a great job about talking to the kids about the true meaning of Christmas too! Grandma Chery made their matching Pj's.
The Cookie Decorating was a hit too. The kids decorated Gingerbread houses, Santa's, mittens, and lollipops. I am not sure how much they decorated compared to what they eat and were wearing but fun was had by all!
The Sunnyside Christmas parade was so fun and amazing too. The kids really enjoyed the parade of tractors, semi's, and floats that had a million different lights and decorations on them.
Grandma Cheryl said it best, " In Portland we enjoyed the Christmas boats, in Yakima we enjoy the Christmas farm equipment".HA
